I am looking at several tractors one of which is a JD 1250, 4x4 with loader and mower. I know little about these models since they are the compact line that JD has. I know it has a Yanmar engine but thats about it. Does anyone have any experience with this model or one smaller or larger that would be similar? Also I would be interested in what it may really be worth. It has 1200 hours and the tires have about 30% of their tread left. It appears the tractor has been well taken care of. The owner is asking $12,500. Is this about right?

Mike, I can tell you that if I had a 1250, ldr, mower on my lot with low hours like the one you describe, I would be asking more than $12,500 for it. I'd say probably $14,000. Good solid tractor, and the 1250 has the feel of a bigger tractor. Sounds like a fair deal. ....

What are the other tractors in competition with the 1250? They must be pretty special. I agree with Don that the price is very good and the 1250 is a nice machine. It is a little larger than most of the compacts. I'd say that it just makes it into the smallest of the utility farm tractor size.

My dad has a JD1250 MFWD w/Loader and it is a great machine. Very heavy duty. Very reliable. Paid $10,000 4 years ago; offered 15,000 last year; it only has 400 hours. We clear woods/creeks and mow with it. ....
